An import made at map time settles inside the guest's map call, so the mapping thread waits while the kernel maps the pages. A device that imports shared memory through host pointers settles nothing, so the test expects a settle only for a dma-buf import.
A graphics pipeline the store builds or a compute pipeline a dispatch builds is
appended to pipelines.journal next to the shader cache entries, as the
materialized result of each stage (the specialized SPIR-V, bindings and push
constants) plus the recipe the pipeline was built from: the stages'
identities, vertex input layout, descriptor set layout keys and the state
fields the Pipeline constructor reads. When a VulkanDevice is created with a
window (a headless device waits for its first draw or dispatch, since the
window's device usually replaces it first) the journal is loaded and its
pipelines are built on a pool of threads while the title loads, so the first
draw or dispatch of a configuration seen on an earlier run finds its pipeline
resident instead of compiling it on the queue worker.
The pipeline stores key on RecompileResult::Identity, a hash of the module
words, specialization constants, subgroup width and bindings that is the same
on every run (SharedSpirv::ContentHash, computed once per shared module),
rather than on the process-lifetime variant ids; a generated stage is keyed
like any other. CachedPipeline builds outside the store's mutex and the
library parts and link are built outside the library store's mutex, so replay
threads and queue workers build in parallel; a concurrent build of the same
key keeps the first inserted. A replayed pipeline enters the store at its
least recently used end and a full store takes none, and its optimized relink
waits for the first draw that binds it, so the title's own pipelines come
first in both. The compute pipeline creation moves into
VulkanDevice::createComputePipeline, shared by dispatches and the replay. The
store key also covers the color component mapping, the depth target's sample
count and a depth bias clamp, which the constructor reads.
The file names the device it was written for (the properties the driver's
pipeline cache file is named by) and starts over for another; a torn tail is
cut at a record boundary; two runs sharing the directory take turns on a lock
file and keep each other's records; a read failure never starts the file
over. A device cancels its replay before it is replaced or destroyed, and a
replaced device destroys its pipelines then rather than at the driver's stop.
APS5_NO_PIPELINE_JOURNAL=1 disables it; APS5_PIPELINE_JOURNAL_THREADS,
APS5_PIPELINE_JOURNAL_ENTRIES (the first recorded), APS5_PIPELINE_STORE_ENTRIES
and APS5_PIPELINE_JOURNAL_MAX_MIB bound it; APS5_PROFILE_DRAW prints a
[pipeline-journal] summary. APS5_VERIFY_SET_LAYOUTS=1 now also checks a
dispatch's set layout against the one described from its shader. The lavapipe
test suite, which shares one cache directory, runs with the journal off except
for the journal's own tests.

A GPU hang or a crash in a title leaves no record of what the queues
were last given: APS5_TRACE_GPU prints every submission (too much to
leave on), and the WAIT_REG_MEM timeout message shows only the packet
before the wait on the waiting queue.
Each queue now keeps a ring of its last 16 submissions
(APS5_PM4_RING=<n>, 0 to 4096, 0 disables): the TraceMs time in tenths
of a millisecond, serial, size, guest address and a copy of the first
512 dwords after indirect buffers are inlined, recorded under the
driver lock next to the serial, REWIND tails included. The ring of a
queue and the failure report registration are set up at the top of
Submit, before any output is reserved, so recording under the lock
does not allocate. Disabled, Submit only tests a static flag; enabled,
it costs one bounded copy per submission.
DumpSubmissionRings decodes the kept dwords with Pm4::PacketWords and
the new Pm4::KnownName, which returns the decoder's names as views of
static strings (empty for an unknown opcode, printed as UNKNOWN_0x%02x);
Pm4::Name now builds its std::string from it. Every line is formatted
with integer and string conversions only into a 512-byte stack buffer
and written with one WriteFile / write(2) on the stderr handle, so the
dump does not allocate from the C runtime heap, lines from other
threads do not interleave and the CRT stream lock is not taken (the
rule of #3871). The header gives the number of queues and the ring
size, and each queue line the submissions recorded and kept.
libc gets a small registry of failure reports
(LibcRegisterFailureReport_nid_no_patch, Unregister, Run); Run runs
the registered reports the first time it is called and returns at once
after that. The Windows crash report runs it after the thread dump of
an unhandled exception, after SIGABRT (which also covers the
APS5_HANG_DUMP_SECS timed dump, since it aborts) and after an invalid
CRT parameter, so an abort after a reported exception does not print
the rings twice. The driver registers its dump at the first submission
and unregisters at static destruction; the dump there waits a bounded
time for each ring lock. What the crash-path dump cannot do (a ring
held by the crashed thread, rings corrupted by the crash, Linux) is
recorded in technical debt.
APS5_STALL_WATCHDOG_SECS=<n> (0 to 86400, 0 disables) makes a waiter
that has not progressed for n seconds dump the rings once per wait: a
WAIT_REG_MEM (progress as for APS5_GPU_WAIT_TIMEOUT_MS: another packet
runs or completes), a REWIND waiting for the title, and a compute
submission held behind queue 0. The last one prints under the driver
lock, so submissions and the other queues wait for it (USAGE.md says
so). Both variables are read at the top of Submit, so an invalid value
of either throws at the first submission and never later inside a GPU
worker. The order wait behind queue 0 releases its order hold on scope
exit, so a throwing dump cannot leave it counted.
No packet semantics change; packet sizes and names are those of the
existing decoder (PM4 type-3 header layout as in Mesa
src/amd/common/sid.h). The queue bound of Submit and of the rings is
one constant, SubmissionQueueEnd.
Tests: agc_driver_pm4_tests gets ten modes, each its own ctest:
agc_driver_pm4_ring (APS5_PM4_RING=4, six submissions on queue 0 and
two on 0x20: the dump holds #3..#6 and #1..#2 in order, nothing
older), agc_driver_pm4_ring_empty (one line), _ring_disabled (one
line), _ring_invalid and agc_driver_pm4_stall_watchdog_invalid
(APS5_STALL_WATCHDOG_SECS=1x: the submission throws and is not
executed), _ring_report (LibcRunFailureReports_nid_no_patch dumps the
rings), _ring_report_heap (Windows: with ucrtbase.dll's HeapAlloc and
HeapReAlloc imports counting calls from the reporting thread, the
failure report of a submission holding INDEX_BUFFER_SIZE names it and
allocates nothing, while Pm4::Name of the same header is seen
allocating), and with APS5_STALL_WATCHDOG_SECS=1 a WAIT_REG_MEM
(agc_driver_pm4_stall_watchdog), a REWIND (_stall_watchdog_rewind) and
a compute submission held behind a queue 0 rendering wait
(_stall_watchdog_order), each held for about 2.5 s, dump once and
complete when released. The PM4 catalog test checks KnownName against
every opcode and custom name. windows_backtrace_failure_report checks
that abort() runs the registered reports once and not an unregistered
one; windows_backtrace_failure_report_once that abort() does not run
them again after an earlier run. With the dump decoding through
Pm4::Name, agc_driver_pm4_ring_report_heap fails with "the failure
report allocated from the C runtime heap"; with Run resetting its
flag, windows_backtrace_failure_report_once prints the report twice.

A multisampled rasterizer drawing into one-sample targets keeps
PERSP_SAMPLE, LINEAR_SAMPLE and ANCILLARY inputs, and with PS_ITER_SAMPLE
also centroid inputs, since only sample 0's coverage reaches the targets.
Coverage inputs, and the sample index with POS_X_FLOAT or POS_Y_FLOAT,
still throw. The input rule for the non-iterated case follows
fdfawef324's proposal on #5907 (PPSA07411).

A draw whose rasterizer has more samples than its color or depth targets
threw "a color target's sample count differs from the rasterizer's" or
"the depth target's sample count differs from the rasterizer's". When
every target has one sample, MSAA_ENABLE is set, and there is no
alpha-to-coverage, no PS_ITER_SAMPLE and no sample-dependent pixel input,
only sample 0's coverage reaches the targets, so draw it with one sample
at sample 0's location in each pixel of the grid. One-sample depth images
are created sample-location compatible when the device allows it.

ShaderRegistry.cpp prepares the registered shader types 0, 1, 2, 4, 6 and 7, skips 5, and logs and leaves every other type unprepared at registration; Hello Neighbor 2, Ad Infinitum and Ghostrunner register type 8.

A geometry program with VGT_GS_OUT_PRIM_TYPE 1 was refused as an
unsupported output assembly. Each primitive export of an NGG line-strip
program is one line whose indices are packed like a triangle's, so the
mesh module now declares OutputLinesEXT with PrimitiveLineIndicesEXT for
it. A subgroup gets VGT_GS_MAX_VERT_OUT - 1 lines per input primitive and
at least GE_MAX_OUTPUT_PER_SUBGROUP line slots; fast launch keeps using
PRIM_AMP_FACTOR. The output size is part of the cache, draw, validation
and pipeline keys, and the request serialization version becomes 31.
Triangle-strip geometry is unchanged.

A static, read-only image slot whose T# has TYPE 1 is now bound as a null
image, like TYPE 0 since #5473 and #4779. On gfx1010, image_sample_lz,
image_sample_b, image_load and image_get_resinfo through a format-22
TYPE 1 T# return zeros without a fault, and gfx1035 reads it as zeros
too. Written, atomic and table slots still throw, and the reserved
types 2-7 stay refused.

The kernel maps a dma-buf import's pages for the GPU at the first submission that uses it. On RADV
that took about 2 s for a 3 GiB import, in the second frame of Hades (PPSA03355), and its staging
pool ran out while the frame was held.
Linux now makes the settle queue from #6060 when the device imports dma-buf memory, and settles
every dma-buf import of 1 MiB or more right after it is made with settleImport's 4-byte copy. The
settle queue needs neither the GPU mutex nor the main queue's work to finish. A dma-buf import's
buffer is shared with the settle queue's family instead of aliased, since a sparse import is bound
to many memory objects. Where the sparse queue already takes that family, the settle queue is a
second queue of it.
A guest S# with FILTER_MODE min or max and an anisotropic XY filter
threw "combines a min or max reduction with anisotropic filtering",
which stops High on Life (PPSA15388) in its home base. It now decodes
to a Vulkan sampler with both anisotropy and the reduction mode, as a
weighted-average anisotropic S# already does. RADV programs the same
S# for such a Vulkan sampler.
Tamalero's gfx1030 measurement on #5156 covers a sample without
derivatives through a 2x anisotropic S# over a single-level texture:
min or max with anisotropic bilinear returns the bilinear minimum or
maximum, and min with anisotropic point the point result. The
execution test checks the bilinear case on the host GPU; the debt
entry records what is not measured.

VideoOut flips on an RTX 3060 now show that a first frame dump that cannot be opened no longer stops presentation. Header, pixel and close failures remain measured only by the CPU fixture.

A multisampled depth target is created as, or already is, the native depth owner, and a target whose HTILE overlaps a resident depth guard aliases one. Neither may have its HTILE read or rewritten by the generic store-back: the expanded words would be a guest write over the owner's range. DepthSurfaceView decides this before the store-back, which still runs before GpuMutex() and the surfaces mutex are taken. NativeMultisampleDepth binds the owner and a single-sample alias of its HTILE and checks the words stay untouched.
A fill or clear the driver recognizes over an HTILE drops the range's last-read generation, so the
next bind reads the words and stores them back even when the write tracker did not see the fill's
stores. A depth view of slice 1 or later reads the HTILE at its own address
(DB_HTILE_DATA_BASE + slice * HtileMetadataBytes); the HTILE word layout is only modelled for slice 0,
so such a slice takes the clear and the store-back only when all its words are equal and keeps its
fill-time fast clears otherwise. DepthTarget::slice carries DB_DEPTH_VIEW SLICE_START.
agc_driver_depth_fast_clear_submit: an unrecognized kernel clears the HTILE on two frames in a row and
both clears are taken; slice 1 with words that are not all equal is refused and stored back untouched;
slice 1 with equal words takes the clear. agc_driver_graphics checks the decoded slice.
The bind-time HTILE read covered one word per 8x8 tile from DB_HTILE_DATA_BASE, but main models the
HTILE as the pipe-aligned SW_64KB_Z_X metadata (HtileMetadataBytes, the extent HtileFillCovers takes):
at 1920x1080, 1856 of the 32400 tile words lie past the first tiles*4 bytes, so they kept ZMask 0
after a store-back. The read and the store-back now cover the whole metadata and run before the
surfaces mutex is taken, since both wait for recorded work over the range. The tests' HTILE arrays
hold the whole metadata.
PPSA25344 (Unreal Engine 5) decodes its depth through HTILE in its Nanite depth export after the
depth prepass and takes ZMask 0 as a tile holding the clear value; the new
agc_driver_depth_fast_clear_submit case checks that a draw after a fast clear leaves every word
expanded.
Use checked host stdio for BMP output and stop requesting dumps after the first write failure. Keep pixel validation, allocation and non-I/O failures on the existing fatal path.

The reversed-order blend computed the factors Vulkan cannot apply per
channel in the pixel shader (1 - x in fp32, a clamp for UNORM targets
and, when both positions needed it, a premultiplied export) and passed
them to the blend as a dual-source second color. A plain blend converts
the export once and forms 1 - x and the products from that converted
value, so the two paths can round differently. On UNORM8 the difference
reaches one step per substituted factor: an Intel iGPU stored 161 where
the exact blend is 159.75 for SRC_COLOR + ONE_MINUS_SRC_COLOR with an
export of 0.5 over 192 (160 through SWAP_STD), and on an RTX 5080 and
lavapipe the split path differed from the same draw into a SWAP_STD
target by up to 2 steps on other inputs.
The pixel shader now only copies values. Each channel of the second
color is the exported alpha, the channel's own export or the constant 0
or 1, and a channel of the first color whose source factor is ONE may
become 1 with its export moved into the factor. Every factor, 1 - x and
product comes from the blend through SRC1_COLOR, SRC1_ALPHA and their
ONE_MINUS forms, applied to copies of the same export values that the
first color carries. TranslateReversedBlend searches for Vulkan factors
and copy routes that reproduce each channel's guest factors and throws
for combinations no routing reproduces, such as ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA in
the alpha equation next to SRC_COLOR in the color equation: of the 1995
factor combinations the shader used to compute, 932 are routed and the
others throw again, as on main. GT7's 0x65010504 is among the routed
ones. The code is now four 2-bit routes for each color, the same for
every format, and the post-pass emits no arithmetic.
agc_driver_reversed_order_blend also draws each case into a SWAP_STD
target, which Vulkan blends alone, and requires identical stored bits;
the comparison with the exact blend keeps its 1-step tolerance.
agc_driver_graphics checks every factor combination TranslateReversedBlend
accepts against the guest equations and that the post-pass adds no
arithmetic instructions.

8_8_8_8 and 16_16_16_16 targets with COMP_SWAP 2 or 3 keep the exported
alpha in their first channel and red or blue in their fourth, so a plain
Vulkan blend would run the alpha equation on a color channel. Such draws
threw "blending into a color target with a reversed component order is
not implemented" (Gran Turismo 7, #4782).
The AMD SI and CIK register references describe CB_TARGET_MASK in the
order of components after blending and before COMP_SWAP is applied, and
RADV programs CB_BLENDn_CONTROL without regard to the swap while it
renders R4G4B4A4, B4G4R4A4, R5G5B5A1 and B5G5R5A1 through SWAP_STD_REV
and SWAP_ALT_REV and passes the CTS blend tests on Navi10. The color
block is therefore taken to blend in export order: the alpha equation
and source-alpha factors use the exported alpha and the destination
alpha is the first channel.
TranslateReversedBlend keeps the factor pairs Vulkan applies per channel
in the pipeline. Other source factors are computed by the pixel shader
from its MRT0 export (clamped for UNORM targets, as BLEND_CLAMP says)
and handed to the blend as a dual-source second color, which the
fragment output post-pass adds at location 0 index 1; when both
positions need it, the export is premultiplied by its source factor.
The code is a pipeline specialization, serialized in request version
26, and stays out of the prepared shader key.
sRGB, SNORM and integer targets, constant and second-source factors,
destination alpha in the color equation, destination factors the two
equations do not share, different color and alpha operations, MIN or
MAX with factors other than ONE, other color exports when the shader
computes factors, and devices without dualSrcBlend still throw, now
with the blend control, mapping and format in the message.

Track successful releases cumulatively across the complete depth and HTILE ownership ranges. Preserve color retirement and share its single callback; keep retired image contents alive through sampled views and recorded work. Add registry, partial/failure/protection, remap and mixed teardown regressions. Depends on native depth sampling in PR5496 and its descriptor prerequisite PR4820.
A depth surface lives only in its Vulkan image, so a view of its memory
with another layout could only throw, and a matching view kept reading
the image after other writes over its memory. Retire the surface when a
color target or a written storage image it does not serve overlaps its
planes, or when a view it cannot serve finds guest memory over the planes
written since the surface was last bound; lookups then skip it and the
view reads the memory like any texture. Binding the target again brings
the surface back.

The settle read keeps a private import's window open for one round trip on the settle queue, so a
store from another thread can land inside it. CheckImportWindowOtherThread: a store of new bytes from
another thread within the window counts as written, and a same-value one keeps its possible CPU
touch. The debt entry notes the longer window.
On Windows a host import without a section alias left guest write tracking, and its changes were
found by comparison. Since resident direct memory became private MEM_WRITE_WATCH memory, its
imports take that path, and every storage-texture refresh over it compares its whole snapshot.
ProbeImportWriteProtection gets a Windows body on MEM_WRITE_WATCH scratch memory, and
decideImportWatch keeps direct imports of private read-write memory watched when GetWriteWatch
stays honest after an import's first GPU use. The driver marks every imported page written until
that use completes, so each such import is settled inside ImportWatched's window by a 4-byte read on
a second queue of the graphics family (the imports lock comes after GpuMutex, so the main queue
cannot be used there). APS5_NO_WATCHED_PRIVATE_IMPORTS=1 keeps the comparisons.
Decode the four PA_SC_AA_MASK fields at the rasterized sample count. Use the native Vulkan mask when all four pixels agree and apply varying masks in the fragment shader, preserving helpers and combining coverage with alpha-to-coverage and shader mask exports. Add the normalized masks to pipeline, draw and shader keys and the versioned replay request.
Refuse unsupported conservative-raster, centroid and early depth/stencil memory-write cases. Synthetic readbacks cover driver submission, depth/stencil suppression, fragment stores and one-sample and four-sample coverage.
Reject native sampled views of the depth image attached by the same draw before pipeline creation. Keep unrelated views, other devices and the single-sample path unaffected. Add unrun native-view refusal and scope controls; full dependency-stack build and runtime validation remain pending.
Adapt our preserved native-depth sampling work from c0d9edf and sample-aware footprint work from 6e35a877, retaining creation-time coherence and initial HTILE proof. The descriptor interface in upstream PR 4820 remains a separate prerequisite. This source draft has not been built or run.
