The page is built from adjacent raw string literals because MSVC caps one at 16380 bytes. The three pieces had drifted to roughly 17.5KB each, which the old toolchain accepted and VS 2026 does not — main stopped compiling with three C2026s the moment the generator moved, and nothing warns on the way there. Six pieces now, largest 12.7KB. The splits fall after </style>, between the WebView bridge and the actions it drives, and between the picker and the row rendering, so each one lands where two complete constructs meet. Adjacent literals are concatenated by the compiler, so this is invisible at runtime: the extracted page is line-for-line identical, bar one blank line at each new seam. The comment that governs this also drifted — it advised keeping pieces near 16KB, which is the cap itself rather than a budget under it, and told the next person to rebalance the halves rather than add a split. Both are why the pieces grew past the limit. It now names a 12KB budget and says to add a seam instead. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
