# Edge certification notes, sent with every Edge submission by scripts/publish-edge.ts. Lines starting with # are # dropped before sending. # LIMIT: Edge rejects notes of 2,000 characters or more AFTER the placeholders are filled, and {{testServer}} alone # adds about 330. Check with `npm run check:edge-notes` (CI runs it). Keep it short: describe providers as a group # ("model sites the user enables") rather than listing each one, so adding a provider doesn't grow the notes. Thingport Grab {{version}}. Changes: {{changes}} WHAT IT DOES Imports 3D-printing models from model sites (MakerWorld, Printables, Thingiverse, and others the user enables) into the user's own self-hosted Thingport server (open source: https://github.com/TautvydasDerzinskas/Thingport). Data goes only to the user's server, the model sites (including id.snapmaker.com to renew the Snapmaker sign-in) and the browser's own sync storage (recent imports list); never to the developer. HOW TO TEST 1. A Thingport server is required. {{testServer}} 2. Click the toolbar icon, enter the server address, email and password, connect, allow access. 3. Open https://www.printables.com/model/3161-3d-benchy, click the Thingport button (bottom right), choose Import. The model appears in Thingport and in the popup. PERMISSIONS - storage: server address, sign-in, recent imports. - cookies: a model site's sign-in cookies, read on that site only for its downloads, sent only to the user's server. - downloads: reads the link of a download MakerWorld starts, then cancels it. - alarms: renews the Snapmaker sign-in, if enabled. - scripting: registers the content script on optional sites once allowed; on MakerOnline runs a page function (world: MAIN) calling the site's own download endpoint, as its Download button does. - host access: MakerWorld, Printables, Thingiverse and the user's server; other sites are optional, requested on Enable.
