Sketch on a picked flat face or reference plane opens the sketch on it at once. With nothing
picked it no longer enters sketch mode: the reference planes and axes come up, and the plane or
flat face clicked next opens the sketch and puts them away. Esc or Cancel leaves without one.
A picked plane is used up by the sketch on it and dropped by Esc or a click on nothing, the plane
prompt is no longer replaced by a stale tool hint, and clicking the face a sketch was just
cancelled on picks that face again rather than the whole body.
Esc and Cancel now put the body back, and Confirm keeps the new position. A click off the
gizmo only moves the camera and no longer leaves the Move card and its buttons dead. Starting
another edit or a rebuild keeps the position, and undo is refused until the Move is confirmed
or cancelled.
The XY, XZ and YZ planes no longer cross through the bed. Each is a small square in its axis
colour, set off from the axes into the corner that faces the default front view, with its name
written in the plane. Dash-dot axes run between the squares and replace the bed's axis triad
while they show. Hovering a plane greys it and selecting one makes it solid, and picking a
solid face now clears a previously picked plane.
Grabbing an arrow anywhere along its length snapped the body's centre to that point as soon
as the mouse moved. The body now moves by how far the cursor travels from where the arrow
was grabbed, including when it is grabbed while looking straight down the axis.
The XY/XZ/YZ planes are cut along each other and drawn back to front, with
lines along every crossing, and their fills are strong enough for the order
to show. Before, they blended into one grey smear and were too pale to work with.
In the Design tab the button always swung the camera to the plate view and framed the whole
bed, whatever was selected: the tab's picks and sketches are neither the canvas's selection
nor its volumes. It now frames the selected faces, body, edges, vertex, sketch region or
sketch entities, and with nothing selected everything on show — the visible bodies, the
feature preview and the sketches — keeping the current view direction. An empty tab still
frames the bed as before.
The line started at a fixed inset scaled like the ImGui style, while the navigator and the
round canvas buttons scale with the monitor's DPI on Windows, so at 150% the buttons covered
its first words. It now starts past the edge the canvas reports for that corner.
Panning or orbiting with a right-drag no longer ends the polyline chain or drops
the point already placed. Only a right-click that doesn't move does. In the
Touchpad camera style, Alt+move and Shift+move now orbit and pan even while a
draw tool is armed.
The bodies now always draw over the preview on every face a feature leaves unchanged, for
all features. Since a hole's cut sits inside the body, the Hole preview now hides the
bodies and shows the result alone, as Fillet/Chamfer and Draft do.
The Design view drew sinking outlines by looking up its bodies in the
plate's model, reading past the end of an object's volumes once a body
was committed. The Design canvas no longer draws sinking outlines.
Commit to Plate now sends all visible bodies to Prepare as one object with a
part per body, so their relative placement survives. A dropdown beside the
button switches to Commit to Plate (as bodies), the previous one-object-per-body
behaviour, and the choice is remembered.
Selections are drawn as opaque faces in the selection colour with a cased outline instead of a
translucent tint over the body, so they read on a body of any colour. Selecting a Feature tree
row lights the faces that feature made rather than its whole body, which also makes fillet and
chamfer rows highlight again.
Each Feature tree row now carries Edit, Show/hide and Delete, and each
Bodies row carries Move, Show/hide and Delete. These act on that row
instead of on the selection. The eye shows a closed eye when the item
is hidden. Every clickable icon in the sidebar now highlights on hover.
Rename and Color now come first in the right-click menu, as items of
their own instead of inside Modify. This applies wherever they appear,
whether opened from the viewport or from a Bodies row.
Clicking an already-selected row no longer starts a rename; use F2,
the row's right-click menu, or the Rename command.
After undo, redo, New Design, a project load, a delete or a reorder, a sketch
profile picked beforehand stayed selected even though it was gone. The
right-click menu then offered "Sketch profile" over an empty design with Create
greyed out. Those operations now clear the selection.
The Confirm button no longer stays greyed in a sketch session after a card whose
preview was invalid has been closed.
Delete and reorder now wait while a sketch or constrain session, the Text dialog,
an Insert placement or the move gizmo is open, instead of editing whichever
feature took its place in the list.
The sidebar can move to either side, float, be resized, and collapse with
the canvas button or Shift+Tab. Its layout is remembered separately from
Prepare's, starts where Prepare's sidebar is, and View > Reset Window
Layout resets both tabs.
A page built on first click is now built before it is shown, as the idle
prebuild already does, so its controls are not created inside a visible
window. This takes the Design tab's first open on Windows from ~9 s to ~1 s.
Building deps with Xcode 27 on macOS 26 failed at the Python install step,
and a libpython built with Xcode 27 segfaulted on macOS 12-26 whenever a
plugin started a subprocess.
Fan speeds, the recommended nozzle temperature range, minimal purge and
multi-tool ramming flow now take one value per extruder variant. Each
single value is repeated for every variant the filament lists, so every
preset loads exactly what it did before.
Printers without a named nozzle variant no longer switch profiles when their
current diameter is picked in the sidebar. The filament tab reads the selected
variant through one helper.
Fan speeds, multi-tool ramming, the tower interface and flush temperature
fallbacks and the custom G-code placeholders now use the extruder variant a
filament prints with on each layer, instead of reading by filament id.
Refinement now tapers off away from the paint, and the unpainted surface is kept out of
simplification, so what one bake leaves unpainted is still the model's own triangles when a later
bake paints there. A second bake used to refine the slivers and long triangles the first one left
around its stroke, and came out many times denser, with walls off the texture's lines.
Once the budget is met the progress fraction stops moving, and a cancel was only checked when it
moved, so Cancel did nothing until the flat-face merging finished. It is now also checked every 16k
steps.
Meeting the triangle budget by merging flat faces alone no longer raises the warning, and the
warning now quotes the budget instead of the triangle count left after the flat faces were merged.
A vertex pinned on flat ground could collect a fan of thousands of slivers, and validating each
collapse next to it walked the whole fan, turning a second of simplification into minutes. Collapses
that would leave more than 64 faces around a vertex are now skipped.
Pressure advance, adaptive pressure advance and its model can now take a
different value for each extruder variant of a filament, such as Standard and
High Flow nozzles, like the other per-variant filament settings. Projects
saved with one value per filament apply it to every variant of that filament,
and the addnorth BBL filaments in the Orca Filament Library are updated to the
per-variant layout.
The block ran only when flush_length_4 is -1392 and read ace_t_box_vector / ace_t_slot_vector, which only Anycubic's own slicer defines. It emitted comments only, so the printed G-code is unchanged.
Polymaker, Overture and eSUN presets move from brand subfolders to
BBL/filament/, matching BambuStudio's layout; their names and ids are
unchanged. Default filament lists keep pointing at presets that exist,
0.2 mm nozzles keep a default PLA, and user presets based on removed or
renamed presets still load. Generic SBS is no longer in the Bambu bundle;
new selections on those printers fall back to OrcaFilamentLibrary's
Generic SBS @System. The profile tool now recognises BambuStudio's new
filament id/name maps and support_recommended_params.json as data files.
The Polymaker, BETA, COEX, Overture, addnorth, Numakers, FusRock and
AliZ presets that BambuStudio does not ship now live under
OrcaFilamentLibrary/filament/<Brand>/BBL. The BBL bundle now holds
only the filament presets BambuStudio ships, plus a few Bambu and
generic ones.
New "<product> @BBL base" presets carry the values these presets used
to get from BBL's own bases, so their settings on Bambu Lab printers
are unchanged.
Preset::get_printer_type matches a preset's printer_model against every vendor's model names and returns the first hit, so two bundles declaring one name make the lookup order-dependent, and the Add Printer list shows the printer twice. The existing name check is per bundle, because base profiles share names across vendors by design; this one covers the global machine_model namespace and runs over the whole tree, like the setting_id and filament_id checks.
Add the one-all-printer-preset-per-product rule to the orca-profiles skill:
color is chosen at runtime, a material family is a new product and a color is
not, and CI does not catch per-color presets so it stays a review call. Note
that @System is the all-printer convention rather than an enforced check.
The validator, fixture archives and unpacked fixture trees no longer live under <repo>/.test/check_profiles, so every worktree on a machine shares one copy instead of re-downloading. macOS, Linux and Windows each use their own user cache dir, named apart from OrcaSlicer's per-user dirs. The now-unused /.test/ ignore rule is dropped.
The no-tower case was gated on there being no purge volume, but the SEMM flush matrix reads every configured slot and is nonzero even when only one filament is used, so the plater preview drew a tower the print would never contain.
Colour height maps now displace the same way up as grayscale ones. A
truncated or corrupt PNG in the texture folder or a project file now
loads as an empty texture instead of aborting the app, and a 16-bit
colour PNG is converted on load rather than displacing as noise.
filament_id is the plain mint of the product triple (filament_vendor,
filament_type, filament name), and nothing else feeds it. The tooling used to
accept any salt iteration of a preset's own triple, and its minting policy
stepped past ids that other products held in the tree or in the snapshot, so
which id a product got could depend on history. Every "salt split" in the tree
masked a redundant preset rather than a real need, and no shipped id is
salted, so salting goes entirely: no salt parameter, no id policy object, and
--generate no longer reads the snapshot.
--check now holds every declared and every inherited id to that one value and
lists each preset that misses it, variants under a wrong root included, instead
of folding them into the root's error. Two products whose triples mint one id
is reported as a collision naming both, and --generate refuses to write it;
the remedy is a rename so the triples differ. The Bambu catalog map generator
keys its rows by the same mint rather than by what the tree already ships.
No id changes: all 913 ids in the tree are already the mint of their triple,
so --generate is a no-op and the snapshot is untouched.
"Snapmaker PLA-CF @U1" and "Snapmaker PLA-CF @U1 0.4 nozzle" are the same
product on the same printer: both pin "Snapmaker U1 (0.4 nozzle)", and only a
filament_id salt split kept them apart. The first came with the original U1
profiles (#10225); the second with the tool-changer rework (#15039), which
added the 0.4/0.6/0.8 nozzle variants and left the older preset behind.
Drop the older one and re-mint the 0.4 variant onto OFhQf8ou, the id its 0.6
and 0.8 siblings already carry, so the product holds one id across the three
nozzles; renamed_from redirects the retired name. Users of the retired preset
get the #15039 tuning - 39 keys differ, including nozzle 230 -> 240 C, plate
55 -> 65 C and vitrification 150 -> 45 C - which is what the 0.6 and 0.8
variants already ship.
"Snapmaker PLA-CF @U1 base" stays. #15039 orphaned it by having the nozzle
variants inherit fdm_filament_pla directly, so it is unreferenced, but it is a
base in the vendor's own convention - 10 of the 14 @U1 families with nozzle
variants wire them to one - and it holds U1 loading and cooling values the
variants never set. Wiring them to it would change slicing output, which is
Snapmaker's call to make, not this PR's.

"Update re:3D profiles" (#13750) added the tuned "@0.4/@0.8 nozzle" and
"@0.8/@1.75 nozzle" variants but kept the five original un-suffixed presets,
trimming each to a stub that overrides only filament_vendor while still
claiming every printer of both nozzles. On any re3D printer the stub was
selectable alongside the ~50-key variant that actually tunes the material,
which is what forced five filament_id salt splits to keep the pair apart.
Drop the stubs. The variants already carry the products' ids, so nothing is
re-minted; renamed_from redirects each retired name to the smaller-nozzle
variant, and "re3D rPETG @0.8 nozzle" additionally takes over the
"re3D Greengate rPETG" mapping that lived on the deleted umbrella. Each
printer model's default_materials now lists the variants for its own
nozzles rather than the stub.
Cubicon's nine "@base" presets were the only instantiated ones of the 196
"@base" filament presets in the library; the other 187 are instantiation:false.
Being selectable, and claiming xCeler-I and xCeler-Plus, they put two presets of
one product on those two printers - which is what forced the nine filament_id
salt splits: one product deliberately kept on two ids so AMS matching stayed
unambiguous.
Flip them to instantiation:false and drop the compatible_printers, setting_id
and filament_settings_id that a base has no use for, matching what the other
150 bases carry. The three "@Cubicon xCeler-{I,Mini,Plus} 0.4 nozzle" variants
keep one printer each, so every printer still sees exactly one preset per
product and they converge on its single id; the nine salted ids retire.
A base is not added to the preset collection, so user presets that inherited
the selectable "@base" - the v2.3.2-v2.4.2 fixtures have one per material -
would lose their parent. renamed_from on the xCeler-I variant, the first model
the base ever claimed, redirects them; a preset built on "@base" while printing
on an xCeler-Plus narrows to the xCeler-I.
The six default_materials / default_filament_profile fields named
"Cubicon PLA @Cubicon xCeler-<model>", dropping the " 0.4 nozzle" the presets
actually carry, so none of them ever resolved; each model now names its own
variant.

A filament_id is now exactly what the preset's own filament_vendor,
filament_type and filament name mint, wherever it inherits from. Inheriting
settings no longer limits what a preset may claim, so the checks that policed
inheritance are gone, and so are the four grandfather lists that held thousands
of presets as permanent exceptions. The snapshot records sanctioned state rather
than excuses: one entry per id, carrying the product it names beside the presets
claiming it.
Profiles that disagreed are corrected instead of excused. The Elegoo TPU and
PAHT roots were named for a different product than all of their variants and
become TPU 95A and PAHT-CF; Elegoo PET-CF gains the filament_type its variants
already set; the Snapmaker breakaway support presets get an id of their own
rather than riding the PVA chain; and a BBL preset name carrying a doubled space
is fixed behind renamed_from. Their ids re-mint from the corrected identities.
The tooling and the design note also drop the word "family", which invited
reading a brand's Lite and Pro spools as one id.
No change to slicing output — only filament_id values, three preset names, the
inherits lines following those renames and the vendor indexes move.
Orca content-addresses every system filament, Bambu's included, but a printer,
its AMS and its vendor's cloud know only that vendor's own catalog ids. The
printer agent now translates between the two: outbound MQTT and FTP traffic, the
AMS mapping sent with a print job, and the ids written into a 3mf bound for the
printer all leave in the printer's own ids, while status messages, loaded
projects and SD-card prints arrive in Orca's. An id with no mapping passes
through unchanged, and an agent whose printers already speak Orca's ids
translates nothing at all.
Bambu's map is generated from BambuStudio's own shipped bundle; a missing or
unreadable file leaves every lookup an identity rather than taking the app down.
The profile check validates the map's shape, and profile CI now runs on the paths
that can change it. docs/HLSD/filament_id.md records the places the map
deliberately does not reach.
