- Added pipe settings for setting gpu & setting display count
- Fixed sdr10bit toggle in pipe
- Took option.txt out of loop
- If options.txt is empty then fallback on driver to prevent error
- Pipe updated for new options
- Explained why I left logging disabled even if logs are disabled (Its to delete the log folder if logs are live disabled via the pipe)
- Removed log query inside of logging function to prevent unnecessary function calls. This will mean you NEED to restart adapter in order for logs to enable however this is done in favour of performance
- Support for live changing moved to companion app only due to above reasons
Ensure driver sets both IDDCX_TARGET_CAPS_HIGH_COLOR_SPACE and IDDCX_TARGET_CAPS_WIDE_COLOR_SPACE. Supporting high colour space requires handling gamut functionality and appropriate transfer curves for displays.
(Aka having High caps colour space means we already have support for wide colour space and high colour space is not a replacement for wide colour space therefore we should also set wide colour space)
- When enabled this will force the custom edid to be 256 bytes enabling cea-extension features built into the hardcoded edid block.
For example: When emulating an old display (for example: Acer FP751 analogue display 128 bytes) it will force the display to have a cea extension to keep the HDR Feature (256 bytes)
Note: As of now, this will remove any other cea extensions from edids which are 256 bytes in size. This should only be used to force HDR Capability onto virtual monitors
- When both SDR10-bit and HDRPlus are enabled, there’s a conflict because the display system cannot simultaneously handle both high dynamic range 12-bit and standard dynamic range 10-bit settings. This results in the system defaulting to HDR10-bit, the closest compatible setting, to maintain some level of HDR capability without completely reverting to SDR. It’s a compromise to ensure compatibility and functionality.
