Prototype validates the geometry engine against third-party STLs: overhang detection, region segmentation, bed-reachability, a fin wall swept along a curved contact line, and orientation scoring with a load-direction model. docs/FIN-SPEC.md records the verified fin geometry — standoff, tine dimensions, tine count, base, chamfer — with the reasoning for each. Known gap: the prototype has no tines yet, which is the fused connection that makes a fin a combined support. Without it a fin only holds the part in one direction. That is build item #1.
